What Home Means To Me

Twittermoms wants to know what your definition of home is. To me, home is where my family is. As cliche as that may sound, it is true. I have moved 14 times in my 24 yrs of life. Well, that is 14 times that I can remember. With another move coming in October, it's safe to say that I've never had a place to call home.

Home has always been a hotel, an apartment, a town house, a house. Where ever the military has sent us, that has been home. It is all I've ever known, to some people it may seem 'unstable' to me, it's life.

Home is a place in my heart, when I am surrounded by the people I love, where ever we may be. It's not measured by square footage and architecture. The love that flows through our family will remain the same, no matter what country we may find ourselves in.

A photo of our current (third home) here in Germany. Date stamp is wrong, this was taken sometime in March 09. That is Ki'Nani playing in the back yard, our house is the white one and the darker one is the old horse stable.

For me as a Christian, I believe my true home to be in heaven. From this earthly perspective, I, like you, agree that home is where the heart is. It doesn't matter which location that happens to be. Nice reminder!

I could not agree more - home is where one finds oneself surrounded by those whom they love and care for, the actual place of residence is irrelevant, it is just bricks and mortar after all!

I have moved almost as many times as you - 12 times for me (my father was in the Army). I absolutely love it tho, I love exploring new places.
